About

Sophie spent many years travelling the world as a professional dancer, dance teacher, choreographer and Production Company manager. Having pushed her body to the limits and beyond for way too many years, in 2004 she turned to yoga at the advice of her osteopath, to help heal her dancing injuries.

Starting out with Bikram Yoga - intense hot power yoga, she was instantly hooked! There was certainly a physical transformation very quickly - the long term lower back and hip problems faded away in a short period, but more than that, the mental clarity and focus that came along with the practice was completely unexpected.

After 5 years of dedicated Bikram practice and having retired from her professional dancing career, Sophie embarked on a Hatha yoga teacher training course. She spent four months in Morocco and subsequently in England studying yoga philosophy and ethics, meditation, breath work, anatomy and physiology, sequencing and postural alignment.  Sophie became a graduate of the UK based registered yoga school, YogaHaven in January 2010.

Over the last few years, Sophie has studied many types of yoga including Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Scaravelli, Jivamukti and Kundalini and she is passionate about yoga and all its incredible benefits. This mindful connection of breath and body has completely enriched all aspects of her life and this yogini is happy to spout on for hours about her favourite subject!

Having been a yoga tourist for a while, teaching hundreds of classes in several different schools of yoga in several different studios, Sophie found herself drawn to the dynamic style of vinyasa flow. Her passion now is in designing creative sequences and making them accessible to ANYONE and EVERYONE who walks through the door.

Fiercely committed  to continuing her yoga education, Sophie regularly attends workshops and courses to keep deepening her knowledge as well as staying fresh and inspired.

The seriously fabulous teachers that she has moved mountains to study with since the start of her yoga  journey include Kathryn Budig, Taylor Harkness, Bryan Kest, Liz Lark, Stewart Gilchrist, AAdil Palkhivala, Amy Ippoliti, Jeff Phenix, Claire Missingham, Sean Corn, Jason Crandell, Cat Alip-Douglas and Doug Swenson.

Sophie offers a challenging class full of compassion, plenty of encouragement and a dash of humour.
